Robin is a Speech/Language Pathologist with a Ph.D. She has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families for 30+ years, in community centres, private practice and children’s hospitals in Calgary and Ottawa.
Communication development is at the centre of Robin’s heart. She captures the smallest attempt from a child, whether it’s a ‘look’, ‘movement’, ‘gesture’, or ‘sound’ and helps the family learn how to build that attempt into meaningful communication and words. Robin particularly enjoys building relationships with the children and families and has seen so many children excel in their abilities.
Robin is trained as a Master Coach in the Autism Navigator® model (ESI/SCERTS) developed by Dr. Amy Wetherby and colleagues at Florida State University. She has served many families and has trained many Early Intervention Providers in Canada, the United States and South Africa, over the past 5 years.
Robin was the Master Coach for the ESI/SCERTS QuickStart™ Autism Navigator® program until her retirement in 2023. In this role, she trained our Early Intervention Providers to deliver the Autism Navigator model to young children and their families in the Eastern Ontario Region.
